Omega-5 gliadin (Tri a 19) is a major wheat allergen encoded at the Gli-1 locus on the short arm of chromosome 1B. The coding sequence length of the gene is typically about 1,344 base pairs (bp), translating to a 439-amino-acid protein with a molecular mass of roughly 65 kDa.

Gene Coding Length: mean 1,344 bp ("The ω-5a gene consists of 1,413 bp and has an ORF throughout the entire 1317 bp coding region. The nucleotide and deduced amino acid sequences are shown in Fig. 2.
